Discover a cinematic journey into how Ukrainian women navigate war's devastation, revealing not just practice but presence, resilience, and what remains human when everything collapses.

In the midst of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, hundreds of Ukrainian women gather for what become the largest Kundalini yoga teacher trainings ever held — remarkably, in a country under active bombardment.

What begins as a chronicle of spiritual practice gradually transforms into something more elemental: an inquiry into how consciousness survives under extreme pressure.

Told almost entirely through women’s voices, the film moves from external devastation toward an existential confrontation — ultimately holding the viewer in an unflinching gaze and asking what responsibility follows witnessing.

"I first gave my interview in 2023.  It feels like I’ve lived several lifetimes since then.
Something has changed: me, my vision, my world.
Answers have come — to the questions why?

And what for?

But one thing remains unchanged — our shared desire for peace.

🤍
⠀
The film turned out to be deep and very sensitive.
It’s about us. About those who practice.
 About those united by yoga

— and by war.

Everyone who watches the film will recognize

a part of themselves in it.
⠀

In my view, a new era is already being born in Ukraine —
a new era of spiritual guides,
who — through different tools (sometimes strange at first glance) — bring transformation.

Deep. Subtle. True.
⠀

The world is changing.
We are already a part of it."

What this film reveals is not merely a practice - it's a transformation of consciousness under pressure, transcending familiar categories of healing or spirituality.

💙 Meet the Yogis of Ukraine: Healing Trauma, Supporting Soldiers, and Rebuilding Lives

These courageous Ukrainian women are using Kundalini yoga not only for their own healing, but also to aid soldiers on the front lines and in rehabilitation. Through yoga, they are helping to ease trauma, support amputees, and bring hope to those affected by war. Click on each image to discover their incredible journeys.

This documentary invites a deeper reflection on what remains human in conflict - not only through the women it portrays, but through the act of witnessing itself.

In June 2025, we had the privilege of bringing a work-in-progress screening of Yogis of Ukraine to the very women featured in the film. Please enjoy this behind-the-scenes glimpse into our journey—and a deeper look at what is unfolding in Ukraine today.

🎥 The Role of Yoga in Ukrainian Resilience

While the film portrays yoga as one of the tools these women turn to amid violence, it ultimately becomes a gateway into a larger exploration - how presence, attention, and inner life persist in the face of destruction, and how the act of witnessing war changes both subject and spectator.

"Imagine losing everything—your home, your community, and the life you once knew. For many in Ukraine, this is a reality." In this powerful message, Shanti Shanti Kaur, head of the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine Humanology, shares how Kundalini yoga is providing healing, strength, and resilience to Ukrainian women and soldiers affected by war. Watch to learn how trauma-informed yoga is transforming lives on the front lines and beyond.

💛 Voices of Resilience: Stories of War, Strength & the Power of Presence

These are the voices of Ukrainian women—gentle yet fierce, deeply wounded yet unbreakable. Each story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit in the face of war. They remind us that life is fragile, that every moment is sacred, and that even in darkness, we can choose peace and kindness.

Beyond practice, their testimony becomes an existential confrontation - a call to attention, a mirror held up to the viewer about what it means to witness suffering and remain fully present.

Watch their personal journeys of survival, healing, and hope.
