Behind the Music

Audiences around the world will receive the powerful healing messages of these Ukrainian women through translated subtitles on the screen. Inevitably, some of the emotional power of what these women are saying is lost in translation.

Because music speaks beneath language, the extraordinary original score — composed and conducted by our award-winning composer Sandrine Rudaz — restores the power of what was originally spoken.

We hope you enjoy these behind-the-scenes videos — an intimate look into how some of the cues took shape through the collaboration of musicians, soloists, and a support team drawn from countries around the world, from the recording sessions with a full orchestra in Budapest to the Ukrainian bandura woven through the score.

More Than a Film—A Movement for Healing

This documentary invites a deeper reflection on what remains human in conflict - not only through the women it portrays, but through the act of witnessing itself.
