"They told me to go make dumplings someplace..."
Oksana Dmytruk
🚑 First-Response Medic | Frontline Rescuer | Former Kundalini Yoga Teacher
From Yoga Teacher to Frontline Medic
Before the war, Oksana Dmytruk was a Kundalini yoga teacher, leading two classes a day and guiding others toward balance and inner peace.
Then, everything changed.
When Russia invaded Ukraine, her sons immediately enlisted in the army.
💬 “I was terrified they would be killed.”
Instead of watching from the sidelines, she made a bold decision:
🚀 She enlisted herself—to keep other mothers’ sons alive.
Fighting for a Place on the Front Lines
📌 As a woman, she was initially turned away.
💬 “They told me to go make dumplings someplace!” she laughs.
But she refused to accept no for an answer.
🔥 She kept returning, proving her determination, until they finally took her seriously.
Today, she serves as a first-response medic on the front lines, saving lives under relentless fire.
Yoga in the Midst of War
🚁 Even in the chaos of war, Kundalini yoga remains part of her life.
As tanks roll past and artillery shells explode overhead, Oksana relies on her breath, her practice, and her training to stay calm.
💡 “Yoga isn’t something I left behind—it’s what keeps me steady on the battlefield.”
Her story is a testament to courage, resilience, and the power of inner strength—even in the darkest times.
